I want to help her but everything I try doesn't work or only improves her problems for a few months. She keeps talking to me about it but I've run out of things to say! And I don't want to sound mean but I have my own problems and worries and exams coming up, etc and all i seem to do is spent all my time worrying about her! Also she gets very angry and says mean, ungrateful things about me so I get upset and feel like all my efforts to help her have been a waste of time! What should I do? I want to help her, but I don't want it to take over my life!

It's nice of you to try to help your friend, and completely understandable that you feel this way. This matter is out of your hands now. You are young, as is she. You have your own life. I would suggest sticking by her for support, but also involving her parents or a school counselor, teacher, etc.Don't completely leave her in the dust, but you have to be able to put your hands up and say, 'i've done all I could do to help, now it's time to get her some REAL help'xx
