If they weren't guys would be marrying and lusting after average women every second of the day and we wouldn't have every magazine showing physical beauty only.
Be this as it may, looks can only hold man so long. Physical attraction is the first thing a guy notices in a potential mate, but if it's purely physical, it won;t last. Because at some point one of you is going to want more than that.
Looks matter. But not for long.

It'd be nice if they were 9 out of 10. Just look at all the celebrities out there. They all get married just because their hot, but it never lasts very long. If your looking for someone special, don't try to hard to seduce them with your looks, but wait for someone who likes you for who you are.

But if she is extremely bad on either one, then I probably won't be interested. So I would stay away from a girl who looks stunning but has a dismal personality and also from a girl who has a fantastic personality but looks horrendous (sorry to sound so shallow)

I'm 18, and my ex wasn't exactly stunning. But I loved her because of the connection we had.
For some guys looks may be a big deal, because they want to look good in front of their friends. There are a lot of guys, like myself, that just want something real in a relationship.. When somebody does fall for you for who you are, you become beautiful to them anyway IMO.

 Trust me looks aren't everything. I know this really stunning barmaid, but she is as exciting to talk to as a bit of cold toast.
I only find her physically attractive, which I thought at first would be enough, but I now realise that the personality is far more important.
