reader, anonymous, writes (29 March 2013): If she's flirting with you she probably likes you. But I will also add, not to scare you, but I am a very friendly person and I suspect some guys mistook my casual affection as a sign of interest when it actually wasn't, it's just how I am.
So if you are not sure and don't want to put yourself in an awkward situation, just ask her out. Ask her to dinner. Be bold and confident when you do. Girls love that.
The worse that could happen is she is not interested. You'll get over it. On the bright side she's still a cool girl you can stay friendly with.
