Feelings for a female friend...

Question - (3 May 2011) 1 Answers - (Newest, 4 May 2011)
A female United Kingdom age 26-29, *rownEyesGirl writes:

hey,

so i have this friend called L---. she is just, amazing. i have had feelings for her for a very long time now, almost a year. and we have a flirtatious banter going on.

so what i want to know is:

does this girl like me?

she always continues this flirtatious manner with me. which i reciprocate.

i often see her looking at me, and when i turn around she immediately looks away.

she often touches me, sometimes inappropriately.

she compares me to kathryn prescott (who is a lesbian in a tv show) and i compare her to lily loveless (who is a lesbian in the same tv show), and we have this banter that we are these people.

although:

when i asked her what she would do if i kissed her (part of flirtatious banter) she said she would tell me she didn't feel the same way, but i can't help but feel that she is saying that because i directly asked her.

i just really want to know, because you have no idea how hard it is for me not to kiss her, and tell her my feelings. and to be honest i'm a bit nervous about it all.

she says she is straight. but she has had feelings for 2 girls. so it's very very confusing for me.

if you could help me even a tiny bit. i would be very grateful.

z x age 16.

AuntyAlexxmo agony auntYou know you said you are confused? well it sounds to me like that is exactly what she is, young and very confused. As from what you say she clearly shows interest in you and would give the impression that she has some kind of feelings for you, but in my opinion i think she is very confused about her feeling and maybe even her sexuality. She may need more time to get things clear in her head, you could tell her how you feel see how she reacts and give her time to take it in. Just remember she may not be ready to admit her feelings and in that case she is likely to deny them.

And of course lets not forget she may just be a huge flirt and actually be straight, i dont think that is the case but it is possible.
