I guess I might be able to offer some help. I am a depressed vegetarian that has also had laser hair removal.
As for laser hair removal. Yes, it works marvelously but you should expect to do several treatments depending on the coarseness and size of the area that you want treated. I did about 6 treatments for my underarms. The hair now is very fine and light when it grows out.
Laser hair removal is not permanent but it does drastically decrease the hair you will have in the area. If you are set to rid yourself of the hair forever, then you will have to have touch-ups done every once every 6 or so months until the hair stops growing.
The laser hair removal process works great. I had no skin problems, just a little redness and sensitivity after the procedure. It is expensive though....
For protein, I drink a soy protein drink at least once a day in addition to having protein from fish and other soy products. If you go to your local health food store you will find a version of soy protein in powder form. My favorite is at GNC, Soy Powder Vanilla (with 25 grams of protein per scoop--equal to a large steak). I mix it in a blender with rice milk and fruit or coco powder an coffee. You should also take Papaya Tablets, which will make the most of the protein you intake and help your body digest it--important if you are a vegetarian.
Get in the habit of exercising regularly. Start small (20 minutes a day and work up to 1 hr. or more). Exercising will increase the amount of endorphins that are produced by your brain giving you a lighter and clearer mood. Exercising will also help tone your body and help your confidence.
I hope that helps. If you need more advice my name is Riz. Just do a search on dearcupid.org and you will find me.
Take care!

I think before you start thinking about changing your physical appearance you should first work on making yourself feel better. Depression is an illness that can be cured. I think the first step you need to take is to see a therapist and perhaps get on meds. I know a couple of people who have been very depressed and they got help right away, and through a combination of therapy and meds, they both got better and in fact are doing really well and are both very happy. I mean they went from really really sad, to perfectly normal, happy, productive people. Upon meeting them today, you would never know that they had been severely depressed in their past. Go get help, hun. Its nothing to be ashamed of and it will do wonders for you and your life. It will be much more helpful than getting laser hair removal, believe me.
And a healthy diet is also good in helping you feel better. If you don't eat any animal products, then the only other protein sources I can think of are beans, soy products, protein powders (preferably those made of soy), and nuts.
But if you just don't eat red meat, then other protein sources are fish, seafood, eggs, dairy products, and protein powder made of whey, for the most part.
And take B vitamins. They are really good for your mental health. But most importantly, go see a therapist. I think you need to be on meds right away. You are going to be so thankful that you did.

Hi hon, I can't help you with the laser hair removal, but good sources of protein if you don't eat meat, are cheese, eggs, soy milk, beans, fish (unless that counts as meat for you). I suggest that you have a look at this website for some guidance. I'm not an expert, at all, so it would be even better to discuss this with your doctor...

And as far as you feeling sad. Is there anyone you can talk you? Are you distressed about a specific thing or is it just a general feeling?
I have a number you can call, just to chat with someone who might be able to help.
I'm not really sure how old you are, so please don't take offense at the name....
