ArmyMedic agony auntI disagree with syferFire adding people randomly is not a good idea unless you back it up with some kind of covering email.

I will always e-mail a random friends requester and unless they e-mail me back with a good reason for wanting to be my friend, (having no friends is not a good excuse sharing interests is) I will delete and block them.

Go onto the facebook groups page and join groups that interest you, comment on the groups and see if people reply to your comments, once the ice is broken that way you can e-mail them or friends request them.

You are not going to "make friends" by randomly adding 50 people that is called "SPAMING" and nobody likes a spammer.

Again..

Some people expect the world to come to them. You gotta go around and actually network on these networking sites. You said not one has invited you? Well then...YOU invite people. From say.. an hour of work inviting people in your area, you can easily get 50 friends or more. This works for facebook and myspace.

If you have a desolate profile with no friends.. then you will NOT get invites. It's common sense.

Go. Network. Congregate. Build it and they will come.

ArmyMedic agony auntAll my facebook friends are real friends, people I know from real life, I don't add random people as I use facebook as a means of staying in touch with people.

Due to my job I move around often and meet new people who I add to facebook once I consider them to be friends.

I have many friends on facebook and I am not famous, I have just spent lots of time meeting people in the real world.

All the people on my facebook are people I have already met in real life.

Go out and join some clubs and groups and make some real friends.

Facebook is great but it is something to add to your social life, not to start one.

Good Luck!! xx

If you want a firend , go out in the real world and you will meet real people, some nice, some horrible , some really really nice, but at the end of the day if you have a handful of really good friends then your a rich person, nobody can have 191 real friends not possible to keep up to date with them all.

Let me put it like this , I have replied to your question, Does that make me a friend? Not at all I could be an opinonated jerk, trust me you know when someone is a genuine friend and it is very rare to find them through a keyboard.
