Everything functions normally so why is it so disgusting?

Question - (3 July 2010) 1 Answers - (Newest, 4 July 2010)
A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

This is slightly graphic, please do not read if you will be offended. Ok I need to know if something is wrong with me. All of my... private areas are just plain gross. My boobs are nice and big and I guess perky, but they are extremely veiny and my nipples are massive, even when they get hard. Then my other area is just... I dunno. Uneven and gross, and judging by what I have seen, not a pretty area compared to most. Is something wrong? Is this unattractive? Should I see a doctor? It all functions normally, so why is it so disgusting?

A female reader, anonymous, writes (4 July 2010):

Please tell me you're not comparing your vag to what you've seen in porn. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOUR BODY! I wish ALL women knew this. No two bodies are alike. Many women feel uncomfortable with their nether regions for one reason or another. Men also have penis insecurities, but not to the same extent. Women are taught in one way another that their vaginas are gross... shall we examine all of the epithets and nasty slang created for our feminine gardens?

If it's not odorous, swallowing men whole, or producing anything abnormal then you should be grateful that it's healthy. If you think you're somehow defected then schedule a visit to your gyno and allow them to give you a 101 lesson and a self-esteem boost. Not that it matters, but I'm sure many men would love the opportunity to tell you just how wonderful YOU (down there) are.

On a side not, you should seek counseling. Only when you are completely comfortable with yourself can you share it with someone else. And if I need to tell you the joys of that, then you might not be breathing. I wish people, especially women, were not at war with their bodies. They are truly something to love and appreciate. Masturbating and learning more about human anatomy might teach you to love your body.
