A male United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Ok, this is a tough one.

I met this girl at uni about a year ago, within the first few days of getting to know her I really liked her. We grew closer and closer friends, untill almost every moment awake I would spend with her. All our other friends were convinced we were in love, and I know I was. The problem is I wasnt sure if she reciprocated or whether she just appreciated having such a good friend. This went on for about 9 months, and she even invited me to her house for 2 weeks as she lives on the other side of the world. I jumped at the opurtunity and immediately booked a plane ticket. Then during the summer holidays we talked loads on the phone flirting and generally having a great time (I still havent told her directly that i love her), and the time came for me to go to her house, it wasnt untill now that she decides to tell me that she has a boyfriend, who she has been with for 3 months! She has never mentioned him to any of her friends at uni, they were just as surprised as i was when I found out, and they were convinced that we would finally realise each others love whilst on holiday together!

NOw for the tricky part, to help me get over the pain, i would just try not to see her too much untill i found someone else! But I live in a student house with the damn girl! Every time I see her walking round the house it kills me to think she is with some other guy!

What should i do?!?!?!

Olly
