Every night we don't talk, I'm worried she's talking with her ex! I'm not really sure what to do...

A male United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I met this girl back in high school, we dated for a couple of months, then we broke up. We talked off and on from then until now (4 years later), sometime during this off and on talking she moved away. She just recently ended a relationship, and before this she had a nice stream of bad relationships. We just recently began talking again, and we've been strongly debating whether we would be right together. We've been talking seriously for the last week or so, about us, and me going to visit to see if we would truly work out together. But every night we don't speak, i can't help but worry if she's off with the guy she just recently ended a relationship with. I don't know if i should be feeling this way, and if it's just a trust issue because of our distance. My question is should i just suck it up or get on the phone and talk about it, and if i do indeed talk about it, would it really be the best choice?

I should probably add that my feelings for this girl are very strong.
