reader, anonymous, writes (30 December 2008): Its completely normal to be doing that. Just do it when you know you are alone in the house. If your mother walks in on you it will be very awkward but she wont be mad at you. Your mother was your age once too. She has masterbated before.

 First off, you don't need to feel embarrassed about it because it is perfectly normal and many young people, boys and girls, experiment with masturbation as they grow up and begin to explore their sexuality.
I'm sure your mother wouldn't be pleased to walk in on you doing it, and the moment would be awkward for the both of you, but a simple solution to this is to do it only when you know you are alone in the house.
