A reader, anonymous, writes (4 March 2007):

Hi usually vaginal discharge increases during pregnancy (good old hormones strike again) in some women so much so that they have to wear panty liners. As long as it doesn't smell or isn't cottage cheesie in texture, your not having any pain, or it isn't fluid leaking, or bloody i wouldn't panic, just mention it to your doctor in your next visit. Goodluck

A female reader, Wendyg United Kingdom +, writes (3 March 2007):

Wendyg agony auntDepends what the whitish discharge you describe is... Sometimes woman do just generally have a whitish discharge that is just the way their body is and will always be there pregnant or not... But you may want to get checked out that its not thrush, as this can cause an unhealthy environment for your baby.

I cant say for sure what the discharge is but it may not be something that will just go away, we all have a certain amount of secretion its what keeps the vagina healthy its only natural, and this can sometimes become less or more during pregnancy, it wouldnt nessicarily just disappear, just because your pregnant. Your vagina will still need to be acting in the normal way that it has always done.

But if its excessive and has changed do get it checked out.

Take care x
