As pinktopaz says, if it is floppy it don't work, but a full erection isn't always needed. It depends a bit on the tightness of the hole. Obviously oral sex is always a possibility and likely to soon get it fully hard again.

Yes, that is a requirement. You know when you're trying to thread string thru the eye of the needle? If it's all floppy then it's really hard to try to get thru the eye, but then when you make it stiff it makes it way easier to thread? Pretty much the same thing happens if the guy isn't hard, plus it doesn't feel too good for either party.
