Does the fact that my best guy friend, whom I like, and I are not a couple yet mean that he's not into me?

A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

My best guy friend and I've became best friends since our high school years. We talk and text each other almost every single hour. We share our moments and stories together, even when we both had relationships with other people.

Lately I started to have feelings for him. I don't know if he just not that into me or otherwise we should become an item already. Or we just get to close to each other, and there's no mysteries between us?

We are still BFFs, but not we are a couple.

Is it a sign that he's just not that into me?
