Does she want my number?

Question - (1 October 2011) 3 Answers - (Newest, 2 October 2011)
A male United Kingdom age 41-50, *arrybaggs writes:

A girl I work with said she thought of something funny to tell me (we often carry on and joke about stuff and make each other laugh a lot) when were not working on a shift together. She said she would have text me the joke but didn't have my cellphone number. Was that just a general comment, or a hint that she wants my number? She's with someone, so I didn't want to offer my number to her.

We kind of have a lot of fun being silly and misbehaving. She draws me silly pictures and oftens draws on my arms. She's also kind of touchy-feely and draws attention to things like cuts on her arm or marks on her hand. She seems to kinda of draw my attention back to her if I talk to another person for a while. We have kind of recurring jokes and she remembers all these bad or silly jokes I make.

Thanks.

SHe might just want to be your friend... Im a silly type of girl who is very committed to my fiance but I will goof off in a similar way w/my friends (male or female). I am not in the least bit interested in any of them.

A female reader, HoneyComb United States +, writes (2 October 2011):

Sounds like she's very comfortable with you, like a brother, and just having fun. She knows joking around at work can get the two of you in trouble (someone who overhears might take offense and report one or both of you for harrassment). She wants to play it safe, so if you want the joke and you are NOT married, go ahead and give her your number. Don't think it's anything more than a friend to friend gesture.

tennisstar88 agony auntNo offense, but this girl sounds very immature drawing on your arm and making you silly drawings. How old is she? She seems to be one of theses girls who need constant male attention, even outside of her relationship.

It may be a ploy to get your number. You can give it to her, but keep in mind she's currently attached. If she really wants it then she'll ask you for it.
