A male United Kingdom age 36-40, *ookieOnLove writes:

I am a 26 year old guy who has never been in a relationship, I am new to liking girls. I'm currently trying to date a lady who is 32 years old. She has had two relationships, one lasted 10 years, the other less than 1 year.

She said because of these relationships, she has built walls around herself so she doesn't get hurt.

We met on the internet around 2 years ago, but only really began conversing 5 months ago. We chatted online first, then I called her 3 months ago, and met her three times now.

We used to chat online for 10 hours, then we would chat daily on the phone for 3-4 hours in the week and 20 hours on weekends, we talked about anything and everything.

However since the turn of the year, she has been a bit reserved, we still text a lot, but don't speak on the phone so much, I try not to push her, but she doesn't request we speak.

A few weeks ago she told me she feels happy speaking to me, and she wants to let herself go, but now she is not as keen as she was at the start, i still am very keen. I've even sent her a hand written letter to try woo her, but i am not sure she is receptive or is holding back.

I know she has job problems too, trying to sort out her career, but surely that can't have changed her too much?

Any thoughts? I'm really confused and getting a bit anxious, 1st time I've liked anyone, and in the past she said she liked me too, but of late she doesn't whilst I make it clear all the time.

Should I ask her if she still likes me?
