Does our female teacher have a crush on my male friend?

A female United Kingdom age 26-29, anonymous writes:

I think a (female) teacher at my school fancies my (male) friend? First, let me make it clear I have no feelings for him except as a friend, so it's not me being paranoid.

She often flirts with him a bit, and has said several times how perfect he is. He used to sit on the end of a row with one empty seat next to him and she used to go and 'sit' talking to him all the time (by sit I mean kneel on the chair lean over him flirtily). Now she's changed where we sit so that he's almost right in front of her desk.

Aslo, she asked his friend (who's in year 13 and she teaches psychology to) if he had split up with his girlfriend, just after they had split up, and also told his friend that she thinks he has a crush on her. But believe me, he's never acted in any way to even suggest he likes her. In fact, he hates her.

Think she might have a crush on him?

A female reader, Miamine United Kingdom +, writes (17 February 2010):

Miamine agony auntNope.. she could be worried about him though. He may have problems at home you are not aware off, or he may have said something or done something that has her worried. Teacher's aren't just teachers, they have to look after your mental health and welfare too.. Yes she's giving him extra attention, by the sounds of it. But it might be because she knows he's unhappy, worried or stressed about some problem that he can not share with you.

A female reader, SsCcHh United Kingdom +, writes (17 February 2010):

SsCcHh agony auntIt seems she's acting quite inapropriatly, and it's good your friend isn't acting upon her flirtacious behaviour.

I doubt within her educational training that she will act anything more than flirtacious, but I'd be sure to keep an eye on her behaviour.

Crush or no crush no actions should ever be taken, she could lose her job for doing such a thing.

With any luck if your friend continues to not return any inclination of a crush back, then she will grow bored and stop.

I hope I've been of help to you x
