I fell out badly with a close friend a while back and we didnt talk for 18 months

We spoke the other night and two days after I had the idea of messaging saying how happy I was we were talking again etc and could she add me to Facebook

she read the message but didnt respond and hasn't added me

What ever happened in the past, SHE isn't over it. She was being polite and trying to avoid drama, so she behaved herself.

THAT would be my guess.

Let her be. IF she wants to be "friends" again, she knows how to find you.
