writes: i am in high school and i think my algebra teacher likes me. he is not married and he told the class that he does not have a girl friend. he always stares at me and flirts with me. i think he is like 46 and i am 17. one time i was sitting next 2 my friend mike and i was trying 2 get my friend's attention so i lightly tapped him on his arm and my teacher got all jealous and said "can u stop touching him"? i don't understand this because i only tapped him on the shoulder and he made a big deal out of it. another time we were getting ready to leave his class and he said something stupid and i was like "u r such a weirdo" he was like "u know u love me" i said "oh yeah, i love all the weirdo's" he said "no, just me". when i was absent from school like a week cause i was sick he asked my friend "where is Christina" and my friend was like "she is sick" he said "i miss her so much. i keep having to stare at her picture just 2 remember what she looks like". sometimes he talks to me about marriage and stuff and this one time everyone in my class was talking bout this and i said " i have 2 marry someone who is German" and he just stared at me and smiled because he is like 100% German. i was not refering to him though. does it sound like he like's me like that or is it just me?? thanks:D

reader, anonymous, writes (26 March 2009): Regardless of whether he does or doesn't (I'm inclined to think he does though) students should never ever get involved with teachers. There's just too much of a negative stiga surrounding it... Sorry! :P

I think you should listen to your instincts, and if it is telling you that this teacher is coming on to you, than you may be right. Some of his comments do seem weird, and inappropriate to be saying to his 17 year old student. If you feel uncomfortable dont be nervous to say something.
