A female United States age 26-29, *notherstory6 writes:

I need advice on what I should do about my science teacher! He is in his late forties, married and has two kids (including a daughter who is one year older than me!) and he has done so many things that felt very unappropriate and flirty in so many levels. First of all I just wanna say that I was in middle school 8th grade last year(now a freshman), and I have had him as my teacher all of my three years at the middle school! Here is the story: He is a really good teacher, and probably my favorite but I don't feel any type of sexual attraction towards him. In 6th and 7th grade he was normal, always nice to me.. I was beginning to notice that I'm one of his favorites, which isn't a bad thing. But this year, he changed somehow. He does so many things that creep me out like I have my locker right next to his classroom and I also have him 1st period, and every morning he stands outside waiting until I get to my locker. As soon as I get there, he talks to me saying good morning(normal), and smiles at me nicely. But then he waits until I put in my combination and open my locker. As soon as I open it, he slams the locker door lightly back in, so that it nudges me a little since im trying to gather my books. this happens EVERY morning! And he even puts StickIt notes in my locker saying Hi Ali! And a smiley face. And once he put his name and put it in my locker! Then he makes sure every morning when I open my locker that its there! Once when I had the last class of the day I was going to go with my friends to class and he was standing next to my locker, watching me. WHen I slammed in my locker door, he said Wait, -I had on a gray shilr that had a ribbon tied on it. He came closer to me and pulled on the string! And then I was like "Oh great!" and he said "Hang on let me fix it for you" *smiled creepily* and came really close to me, touching my arm and retying the ribbon on my shirt. I was going to be late so I told him I needed to go! He took so long to tie it I wanted to say something. Anyways every time between classes, I see him standing next to my locker smiling at me and talking to me asking how was your day? and stuff like that, making small talk.. Once he even asked me to go to the grocery store for him and buy things for him. He said he would even let me use his car! But the other teachers began to take notice, my math teacher sometimes came up to us when it was me and him, and she told him to stop annoying me. I just smiled, because I didn't want to be mean. She did this twice and all he said was "whaat? Im not annoying you am I Ali?" I could say yes actually you are! So I just said no. He never counted me tardy when I was late, but he always got on other people when they were late! I could leave the class whenever I wanted to, he never cared! But to anyone else he always got mad. He sometimes told me to come and see him after school and that Is when I started getting creeped out. He said to come and say Hi before I leave, but I sometimes made excuses saying I needed to hurry home. After he was starting to get really inappropriate, I tried my best to ignore him when I went to my locker and not respond in as nice way as I usually did. He noticed it too, because after just one week of this 'ignoring him' he satred asking my friends and ME asking "Why are you so mean to me?"*smiling* and to my friends- "is she this mean to you guys too?" I mean I really tried to just think of it as him just being friendly and me being a favorite of his, but he was definitely flirting with me and more than just once. At the end of my 8th grade year, I told him that I was moving states and he got extremely sad! I liked him as a teacher, and I told him that he shouldnt be sad because even If i didn't move I would have been in a different school. To this he responded saying " Yeah, but you would still be here.. :(" I dont know, but he took it really deeply and last day of school he hugged me and I think he was sobbing. I have told this story to one of my best friends, and she said he is a pedofile for sure, but I dont know what to think of it. Do you think he liked me as more than a student?" I just want to know that im not the only one who thinks this

A male reader, C. Grant Canada +, writes (27 April 2011):

C. Grant agony auntI think that you were picking up on wholly inappropriate vibes. Am I right that you have moved on to a new school? If not, you would be doing yourself and the kids who follow you in your school a great service to speak to the school counsellor and tell them exactly what you have told us.

Hon, when I was in jr. high school, we had a gym teacher who was incredibly attuned to early teens. He was simply amazing, so unlike the other teachers. We had problems, and he just completely 'got' it. I left the school thinking he was a friend -- he was so in tune with all of us.

A few years later girls started coming forward with stories about how he'd used and abused them. This 'great guy' went to jail after a number of 13 year old girls in three different schools came out about how he'd conned them into sex. He groomed them, and it sounds a lot like what your teacher has been doing to you. So please, talk to someone about this, because it has *wrong* written all over it.
