writes: i'm in seventh grade now but, i still have a crush on my sixth grade science teacher i think he likes me does anyone else? details:i think he likes me because he's always talking to me, smiling at me and when he high fives me he like holds my hand. plus he smiles whenever my name is metoined. everyone at my school says we flirt, we've also hugged twice...but whose counting. he looks out for me in school and i always catch him stareing at me. he's totally cut and a sweetheart....

reader, anonymous, writes (30 October 2009): many teachers,especially male high school ones have that kind of connection with their students.it's not at all weird in my school on example if a male teacher is seen talking,smiling or even hugging female or male students.well,as long as hugs are friednly.male teachers are like that-more laid back and connect with their students easier than the female ones.we had this teacher in our school that is like frind of ours.

reader, anonymous, writes (25 June 2008): I think that your teacher probably does think of you as a special student, but he doesn't "like" you in a romantic way (if he did, he'd be a dangerous pervert and then you most certainly wouldn't be the first or last teen girl he had groomed... NOT the type of person you want contact with!)
It always makes teachers feel good when their old students still like them and remember them.
He's old enough to be your father, and probably just loves kids and young people... may even have some kids of his own.
Some people are physically affectionate, and others can mistake a bear hug for more than what it is. Enjoy your teacher's friendships, but you'll be happier if you just categorize them as "asexual old people" and save your crushes for upperclassmen.

reader, anonymous, writes (25 June 2008): I think he's just friendly. All what you described just sounds like someone of friendly nature. You find teachers that act like this in high school and they're seen as friendly teachers who get along with their students, nothing more.
Probably the reason why you think he likes you is because of your feelings for him. You like him and for that reason you have hope that he'll like you back. Don't think of that, and instead cherish your friendship with him.
