I am in my 40s and was at a family get together and was talking to my aunt from one family and my cousin from another. We were talking about my male cousin as he left the party early as he didn't like family gatherings and I offered to have a chat with him. The female cousin turned around and said that was a good idea as he really likes you and my aunt then said he had a soft spot for me and a little later in the evening I was talking to my female cousin again and she said that my male cousin thinks highly of me more than any other relative.

I was quite surprised as even though we were closer when we were younger, we fell out for a little while and then I made my peace with him 6 years ago. When I turned up for the gathering he looked surprised to see me as he had not been told I was going to it and I couldn't tell if he was wishing I wasn't there. I was also a little disappointed that since he thought so highly of me and hadn't seen me for a while that he would have stayed to chat to me.

Does this mean he cares for me or likes me alot but cant tell me.

If he came out clean and told that he loves you will you accept him?
