He's shown interest before and I gave him little notes saying hi before and then since then he and his friends just kept looking back at me and smiling.. he's tried coming up to talk to me but chickened out each time.. so today I finally talked to him in person.... he was sitting with his friend that is a girl, I asked him about school stuff and then he was like looking shyly away when his friend was asking where I'm from, then i was just smiling and asked him if he's afraid to talk to me then he just says "nooooooooo" it was like he couldn't really look at me, then the girl was like how do u know him? and then she said u can sit with us, so i sat and he was like do u have class? I said no I'm done, then he goes why don't u go home? then i said I'm waiting for my friend, then the girl asked where i lived, and then he was like we are going to the computer lab soon, then i was like oh ok, then he got up really quick and said "sorry" kind of quietly and then left with his friend... SO I don't know if he really doesn't like me, or is it that he doesn't know how to react because I went up to talk to him all of a sudden... does it sound like he doesn't like me? or is he too shy to talk or look at me?

reader, anonymous, writes (12 June 2009): Oooh this one sounds kind of hard. Well to me it almost sounded like he didn't want you around. Like as if your presence wasn't wanted there. But in the case that he does actualy like you, I think it seems sort of pathetic that this guy can't talk to you let alone look at you. It seems very middle school like and i suggest that you start looking at other places. I mean, come on, YOU had to make the first move(talk to him) What does that say about the guy? Also I think it was almost rude how he just got up and left you there, what an a-hole. Overall I really admire your courage to make the first move but sadly,I dont think he deserved that brief moment with you.
