I sent a message to someone i like on a social networking site, and told him i thought he was attractive and funny, and he replied saying thanks, kiddo and put a wink symbol like this - ; ).

what do you think his response means ?.

apathyslastkiss agony auntI agree with others that you probably shouldn't read too much into the wink. He probably just appreciated the compliment, and that's all. Also "kiddo" isn't really something you call someone you're interested in. It's more of a condescending term - nothing to take offense at, but...It's like saying "aww, thanks" or "that was so cute" you know? if there is a big age gap between you two, and he said that, he's probably not interested in you romantically or sexually.

Don't be hurt by that though, he was nice enough to respond to you.

it was still a nice thing for him to write though,do you think ?.He didnt need to say anything at all really,and i'm flattered by the wink symbol he put too !.And it's nice he said thanks.

we do have a big age gap,so is that what he meant by " kiddo ? ".

I think eyes has got it right on.

If he was interested, he would have said something nice.

He's basically saying "ok you fancy me, received and understood." He's flattered.
