Does he want me back, or just stringing me along?

I have been broken up with my bf for about 4 months now. We have never not been in contact the whole time and still hook up/hang out sometimes. He has told my sister that he is going to marry me.. called my mom to catch up.. and keeps sending me mixed signals. I want to get back together with him but do not know if he feels the same way. He started to ask me to hang out on a more regular occasion but i think he is still hanging out or seeing other people also. I do not know what to think or do about the situation and feel like i cannot keep letting things go on like this. Does he want me back or is he just stringing me along?
