Does he see me as more of fling?

A female United Kingdom age 41-50, *rollet writes:

Hi - I've recently started seeing someone - an Italian guy, who is really nice and hot etc On our 3rd or 4th date he cooked me a great meal and then we were making out afterwards. He was getting really excited and trying to go quite far although not all the way. I was into him too but prefer to slow the pace.

My question is does the fact that he is prepared to move so fast quite early on mean that he doesn't see me as a potential girlfriend but more of a fling? Particularly in light of the fact that he's from Italy where I think culturally things like this move much slower. I feel comfortable with him but I don't want to get too involved before I get more sense of his intentions. Any suggestions would be really appreciated! Thanks :)
