The first time we had a few drinks buzzed then 3 days later again..she said she was feeling vunerable becuase of a problem we have since resolved with our son. A month later we have more drinks not drunk but buzzed and we have a great time AGAIN! but a week later she said well I just had to get sober?? There is a remarkable fire between us, we get along so well but she is hesitant, does any of this make sence? Should I wait this out? What am I missing here?

Do what you feel is right for YOU! It seems like she still wants to be with you, if you didn't have a great time than you know she doesn't. So now you have your chance, there is still a connection. You both seem good for eachother, why the heck not. :)
