The time a woman is most fertile is 13 to 18 days after her last period. This is also the time the most girls concieve an unwanted pregnancy because during this time our primitive instincts are kicking in and making up rather, well, horny. 13-18 days after your last period, this is the right time to try. If I were you, I'd have sex each night, starting 10 days after my period, up until about 20 days after, catching the most fertile days. :)
Good luck, and I hope to find out how it went!!

You know, this site is a decent place to ask those questions, but going to your doctor can be even better. Your doctor knows you, your body and can answer your questions face-to-face. Not everyone on here is a doctor and might give you false information. Not that I'm suggesting anyone has. But still, I think since you have so many questions about getting pregnant, there would be no harm in seeing a doctor and asking all the questions you might have.

Hi the best time to fall pregnant is mid cycle. When we tried for our eldest child i counted 14 days after my last period. It worked. With our second child it took about 2 months. There are Ovulation kits that maybe you could try also, they can let you know more or less the exact day of ovulation. However if you have been on the pill previously this can take some time to leave your system, everyone is different. I certainly would not worry as you have not been trying long. Another thing i remember my husband said when we started trying was we should have sex everyday. I did laugh at that, I don't know where he got that from, from what i gather it should be every other day or every couple of days. How accurate that is i don't know. Just have fun trying and let nature take its course. I don't know about the bit of staying upside down, i suppose in theory it would work. I'm not sure about food either, i ate more healthily and if you haven't already take folic acid, this should be from when you start trying to about the 3rd month of pregnancy. Good luck.
