A male United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I am 22 and my girlfriend is 17. We have been dating for 2 years. Her parents really like me and my parents really like her. Both of our families have dinner every once in a blue moon and they've been over for a couple holidays.

Does anyone find it strange that we are 5 years apart? I just graduated college and she is a senior in high school. Thanks!

Fluro Girl agony auntNot at all!

if you really love eachother.

if you do stuff age differences!

You can't plan who you fall for, it just happens.

who cares if anyone says your too old for her.

stuff them too!

They're just jealous that they don't have someone as nice as your girlfriend.

there is nothing wrong with your age diff. me and my bf are sixteem years apart..as long as you understand that she is still a teen and if she go to college its going to be hard for you..age aint nothing but a number and if you really love her and she loves you then nothing should come between

MuffinGirl agony auntNo, sure not! It's great her family likes you and your likes her. And if you have good relationship, if you support each other, if there's trust and understanding between you two, then really I don't see any reason to not be with her! It's not big age gap at all. I know few couples with a much bigger than yours! Keep pleasure in your happy relationship, and REALLY don't worry about ages!

Hi

I don't think that's it's weird that you guys are 5 years apart.

My boyfriend and me are 9 1/2 years apart, if you think 5 is bad then your crazy.lol Also my sisters both married older men, my oldest is also 9 1/2 years apart and my next oldest is 7 years apart from her husband.

When I met my boyfriend I was 18 and he was 28. He didn't want the relationship at all but I was persistant and now were going to get married.

Sure people will mock and embaress you, we got it all the time, but if you love someone reguardless of age then go for it, who cares what others might say!

People are fine with it now because come on its a new time people don't really care anymore, but I think that once she gets into her 20's...which I finally did lol.....it won't seem as bad, but because she's still a teen you'll get hassled a lot more.

Hope you guys stay together and stay by each others side, I know how difficult it can be maturity wise with someone older, we constantly fight about that and life experience, maybe not so much with you guys cause you are only 5 years apart but I hope you guys stay together for a long time and are happy!
