A female reader, Basschick Australia +, writes (15 July 2011):

Basschick agony auntIt's your tummy they're ultrasounding. Your doctor's appointment and you are the patient. Everything goes in your name. Period. The only time the father's name will be included is on the baby's birth certificate and that's only if you want it there.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (14 July 2011):

No, it doesnt.

You werent perhaps presented with the picture by another woman? Please know that it is entirely probable that they inserted the name themselves, because the father is not the patient. The expectant mother is the patient.

Or perhaps you seek to present this picture as proof of some sort?

If so, remember that a child is a gift, not a pawn.

If not, then please disregard what I have said and refer back to my original statement: No, it doesnt.

aunt honesty agony auntI don't think it will, but it might be different there in South Africa. Why not talk to a member of staff at the hospital and ask them. Am sure they would be happy to answer any of your questions about it.
