 I think it's a little ODD (to put it mildly) that she felt like she HAD to ask you first. If this guy is someone she would be talking business with, why would she need YOUR permission to give him her number?
I think you need to chill and trust your GF. It sounds a BIT controlling that you are looking in on her "msg's" - why would you need to? You are not her father, you are her BF. She CAN talk to other people of the male persuasion without it being flirty or about cheating.. don't you think? don't you trust her?

 I think your worrying too much if all they do is discuss work related things , and she loves you, so you have to trust her.
Good sign is she told you she is speaking to him and willingly shows you the msgs; as long as they both keep it work related you shouldnt have a problem :)
