A male United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

Its been about a week since i noticed something odd with my penis. I am uncircumcised and regularly wash myself well. I noticed something like sperm deposits on its tip. It is definitely sperm as it is white and silky and not yellow. It has no smell and isn't irritating but i fell a tingle when i touch it. I can have sex normally and this little detail can go unnoticed. I am sure that i don't have any STDs as i have sex with only my girlfriend and she is clean. Do you think this discharge is normal or is it bacterian infection?

A female reader, No-suger-coating United Kingdom +, writes (18 August 2011):

No-suger-coating agony auntIf it is white and silky; it may well simply be thrush,

when men get it its usually just a slight either white spots on the penis or white discharge around the inner shaft.

Dont worry yourself thinking it is a STI or infection simply go to your doctor (or a GUM clinic if you are shy to go to your own GP) they will look at it and tell you if it is thrush or something else.

It is best to avoid intercourse with your girlfriend untill you have been to be checked out, this is not to say that it is definatley an STD or STI, as even thrush itself is contagious between lovers having unprotected sex.

When you have your results also tell her that she must also go to her Gp/or GUM to be chaecked out.

Or (if you know for a fact that it is thrush) then she can even go to the pharmacy and get Canaesten Duo, Canaseten Cream or an aplicator which will clear it up in a couple of days.

Men CAN NOT take the Canaesten pill (please bare this in mind) but they can use the cream though, it is just as good.

Good luck
