Do you think it's possible that this guy might have something weird going on with the neice?

Question - (5 December 2009) 1 Answers - (Newest, 5 December 2009)
A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

My friend has been chatting online to a guy that we both know in a round about way. I know the guy's neice, and she apparently goes round to his house every single weekend. The guy is 18 years older than the neice, and my friend says that the guy never sends her e-mails at the weekend but often does during the week. I haven't wanted to tell my frend yet, but I was thinking that the situation was a bit dodgy if she's going over at the weekend and he doesn't talk at weekends. My friend's mum and sister have both commented in the past that the guy gives them a bad feeling, though I haven't felt the same way until now.

I know this could be completley innocent, but I'm a bit worried about my friend just in case my suspicions are true. Do you think it's possible that this guy might have something weird going on with the neice? What do you think the chances are that he is? I don't want my friend to get hurt and I need some help!

A female reader, Aunty BimBim Australia +, writes (5 December 2009):

Aunty BimBim agony auntOkay, your have your age listed as 17 to 18. I am going to assume your friend is much the same age. I am further going to assume the man she likes is also much the same age group, so probably not much more than mid 20s or the fact your friend talks to him would also be a bit "icky"

If the man is 18 years older than his neice, that would make the niece a bit of a kid.

Maybe, and I know this is a real stretch of the imagination, but just maybe, he is baby sitting his niece, and is unavailable to talk because he is doing really bad stuff with her like playing ludo or monopoly??

Alternate story, the man is way older than you and your friend in which case you ask an adult who knows you and your friend to intervene.
