reader, anonymous, writes (2 January 2010): You need to stay away from him. Dancing with him when he already has a girlfriend is wrong, especially if he doesn't even dance with her! If he does break up with her, you want it to be because he doesn't want to be with her anymore, not because you were able to steal him away. You should find someone else who respects his relationships more than this guy does and won't cause you to lose any friends.

If he dumps his girlfriend to date you, then everyone hating you and him together might be deserving. But don't get your hopes up too high, once it comes down to the dance, he'll probably ignore you the whole time. Find a nice guy who is available that won't ruin your reputation.

Not only will you not be popular but you'll always be looking over your shoulder because he might suddenly leave you for someone else. I think if he does dump his girlfriend, you should wait for a while and really get to know him so you're sure he really likes you. Take your time. But do wait a while if he does dump her.
