Hi! I'm a 17 yo girl and have just started going out with this amazingly sweet, cute, shy boy whose had no experience with girls whatsoever. this isn't a strictly "relationship" question---but... when guys are watching a very--err--rated R movie like with nudity and thrusting and all---or even just implied sex scenes (like moving under the sheets and what not)---how often do they get hard from that?

A female reader, anonymous, writes (15 June 2008):

hey everyone thnx for the responses. Just a quick thing to Friend Tom: I'd kind of just like to point out that compared to the many girls/boys on this site, who are much younger than/same age as me and the things they're already doing--- well i guess I just don't really understand why you made the comment to me and yet i haven't really seen your comments elsewhere like where the 14 yo girls are asking how to give a blowjob?

Actually no i was not having sexual thoughts at all; this boy and I have been going out for over a month, we haven't even kissed yet. I AM interested in a real relationship and ergo intend on taking this slowly. just his company is enough for me rite now--- he's such a sweet guy.

i asked this question because we are going to hang out in a couple days, and he suggested watching a movie at his house. I asked him what movie he'd like to see, and he mentioned one that'd sounded familiar and when i'd asked my friend about it, she'd told me about some verrry errm, in his and my case, awkward scenes in the movie. if anything i'm wondering if he's trying to suggest something? and was purely curious cuz if anything I'm very nervous about the situation and wanted to know if it was a common thing.

so i respect you commenting, but at the same time felt you judged me a bit unfairly and that you shoudln't jump to conclusions so quickly without asking the person's full intentions.

thnx again all 3

Uncle Sneaker agony auntHow often do they get hard from that?

Every time.

When I was 17 the mere thought of a desirable female in a suggestive situation would have been more than enough. I'm fairly sure I'm not unique.

It takes a little more these days. Just a little...

A reader, anonymous, writes (14 June 2008):

Why are you so curious about that, anonymous girl? Do those things sometimes cause arousal in young (or any age) males. Well, sure,...sometimes,..sometimes not. Some of those flicks are really just so phony and some are really just gross. Some may turn some people on,...but turn some people off. Do they turn you on? It's ok, if you are turned on, but everyone may not be. Just remember, it's only a flick. It is not real. If you are thinking about a real relationship, I suggest you have more going than a hot fantasy. And I think you are too young to think about it now. I perceive you have a lot of growing up to do first. So, you can go ahead and down-rate this advice. This old uncle is used to it.

A reader, anonymous, writes (14 June 2008):

I'm an older man in my 50s, and I would say it's normal for 17 y.o. guy to get hard from watching a movie with sex scenes, especially when he hasn't had any sexual experience with a woman. I don't get hard from that anymore, though I do like watching the "soft porn" movies that are on Cinemax late on Friday and Saturday nights, especially when they show pics of a woman's butt or a man having anal sex with a woman.

So don't worry. If you get intimate with him and your bodies are pressed against each other for the first time while you are lying down, that will make up hard, and soon movies won't do it for him anymore. Do you feel ready to do some sexual things with him? Doesn't have to be full sex, you could limit it to handjobs and oral sex, just something to get him used to getting hard from being with you instead of from porn films. Even just getting naked for him would get him used to getting an erection from being around you instead of porn films.

Well it really matters on the guy.Say the guy you are dating is still a virgin and has never really done anything girl what so ever then those kind of things might make him get short hard on or they might just get him in that good mood,in which case you might have to help him a little
