reader, anonymous, writes (4 September 2008): Teen age diffrence is a lot. Three years in teen years is huge, you know that and I'm sure anyone here who remembers being a teen does. If you can wait 2yrs for her to be legal then fine! But I don't see that happening. My sister 13, if a 17yr old guy wanted to date her I would really question what state his mind was in

There is nothing wrong with that. Some people may think there is, but they are ignorant.
Girls mature faster, and that seems fine that you're a few years older as long as you dont pressure her into anything, which from the sounds of things you wont.

 Of course age dosen't matter, HOWEVER, I feel that when you're that young, you shouldn't be dating someone who's seventeen. People's brains, judgement, etc, develop the most in their teen years. You two are (most likely) on very different levels. I would say stay friends, but wait a couple of years and see if those same feelings are still there. Only my opinion, though.

reader, anonymous, writes (4 September 2008): I don't think it does ... but then I'm in a similar situation to the girl you like so I suppose that's inevitable! As long as you aren't using her for sex then I don't see a problem ... people worry about age differences far too much in my opinion, it's only a number, after all!
