We used a condom, but i was wondering when i have a check up this week with my doctor should i ask for a STD screening? I haven't had any symptoms or anything, but could i have caught something and not know it even with protection?

Be away from the BF who has multiple partners, hes gonna give you nothing but trouble, there are many good men out there find one, have yourself tested for STDs condoms are safe but there is always that 1%.

You should always include STDs check in your routine medical check. Because sex isn't the only way you can caught an STD. And it's always better to find out sooner than later.About you sexual relationship, since he used a condom you were protected. Of course, condom is 99% effective so there is always a chance of getting pregnant and/or getting a STD even if you used a condom. But you see, chances are minimal.

I get regular STD testing even with Safe sex practices.when you get a regular physical they draw blood for other tests... it's one or two more vials and it's not a big deal for that simple peace of mind...I am sure that if you practiced safe sex that you will be fine but get the test if it's feasible for your peace of mind and to establish good health habits.

It'd be unlikely, but you never know. If you haven't experienced any symptoms I'd think there would be no reason to worry, or to get tested, as you did use protection. If you feel you have put yourself at risk, then getting tested for chlamydia is easy, it is just a urine sample. Other things would have given you symptoms. Genital warts can take up to a year to show however, but you can not treat warts unless you actually get them. So unless you have any symptoms of anything the only thing you can get tested for, or the only thing doctors in Norway test for on a routine basis, is chlamydia. But than again is dependent on how high the risk is for catching other things in your area.
Just ask your doctor about it and she/he will know what would be reasonable to test for. The common thing though is to test after a relationship has ended, before entering a new one. It is a good routine to have.

There are other things you can catch from the skin on skin part, like crabs, lice, and other sorts of things but Im pretty sure you would have noticed it by now! With concern to asking your doctor for the STD screening, I say go for it! Better safe than sorry, and there is no feeling in the world like getting a clean bill of health from the doctor! The fact that you are on here asking about it shows you are worried (or at the very least it's always in the back of your mind somewhere) so go get the tests, and put your mind at ease!

It won't do you any harm at all to have a check-up. you may very well not have anything but at least you'll know for certain. It's refreshing to see peope thinking about these things.

To be sure of your health status and get relieved, ofcourse go STD test. If you don't you will keep worried about this. Take away the fear, accept the reality and bold your self and go for it dear.
