I'm fairly certain he's either bi or gay, and I'm hoping it's gay. He's a bit on the shy side. Do I dare come right out and tell him I'm gay and then ask him if he is? He didn't hesitate at all at the idea of sharing the hotel room.

One thing I failed to mention is that there is a huge difference in our ages--I'm 58 and my friend is 23. For as long as I've known him, he seems to be very comfortable around folks much older than he. He was actually the one who approached me about going to this convention so, again, I'm thinking he is fine with the idea of sleeping in the same bed as I. I guess I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.

Hi there babes,
Its only fair to tell him your gay, see what he has to say babes if he is then I think he will soon let you know and if he isn't then if he is a good friend it shouldn't bother him at all...
All the best babes
Love Donna xx

i would just slip it into a conversation, but be gentle if he is shy. or you could always ask him if he fancies a beer at your local - by that i mean a gay pub/club.
if he says its not his thing then you know.
