I mean, I have experienced where you just lose touch with people over time and don't initiate contact anymore, that's very common. But if you see someone again, of course you acknowledge them! To see them and pretend you don't know them, is just creepy.OK I take that back, I have had that happen to me. A former boss kept on pretending he didn't see me whenever I would run into him at industry events. In fact he would go out of his way to avoid me. it was weird. I don't know why. We were on good terms when I worked for him. I've heard from other former colleagues that he does this to them too. we all think he's creepy because of that.

Loads and loads of people. From old school-friends, to colleagues, to exes etc. The world moves on, and we have to move with it.

Oh yeah, plenty of people. I literally just saw a girl I was good friends with in high school a week ago. We didn't acknowledge each other. You just get out of touch with some people, she went away to college and I don't have Facebook so we stopped talking long ago. It was easier to act like I didn't see her than to make small talk in the grocery store so that's what we did. It has happened on more than one occasion but that's the most recent.

I know exactly what you mean, and I think at our age we first start to experience this, we are all getting older and going our separate ways and its sometimes difficult to stay in touch. At different points of my teen years I spent a lot of time with friends, people I thought I'd never lose touch with, some of them i haven't seen in a very long time, it's sad but just the way things are
