I was in a little pain for the rest of the day, but today I've come on my period, and it isn't due for another 2 weeks! Does having the coil fitted cause this? Also can anyone give me some advice as to what form of contraception would be good for me? (I'm kinda put off trying to get the coil fitted again cause it was so painful!)Thanks!

I have the coil three times and bled each time afterwards, i also got a sort of jelly like discharge. Which type do you have?? The one with hormones can actually stop your periods after a while which can be a bonus but the ones without sometimes have the opposite effect. I normally have period for 2 days, very light, but with the coil I had period for 10 days or more and very very heavy. If it still feels painful then go back and talk to someone about it as it may not be inserted far enough. x

What's wrong with good old condoms? No babies and no unwanted STI's. Simplest way I believe.
