 It is true that you can use constriction of the pubococcygeal (PC) muscles to control climax and release, but in my experience, the desire to "let go" eventually reaches a point of no more resistance. Throughout my adult life, I've used the technique to remain erect and postpone the climax for one of three reasons, but at some point, either the level of arousal becomes overwhelming, or the girl reaches orgasm and it's just time to enjoy the moment with her.
