Did his mother 'lean on him'?

Question - (16 November 2007) 1 Answers - (Newest, 17 November 2007)
A female Ireland age 36-40, anonymous writes:

If a guy is really close with his mum (bit of a mummy's boy!), would he take his mum's advice about what he was playing at with a girl even if he really really liked her, which might explain him suddenly backing off?

I suspect this with a guy I was 'seeing' as I know he was super close with his mum. I'm just curious and wanted some feedback as I haven't really encountered this before (and I'm bit annoyed with his mum if this is the case as I really liked him!)

Any opinions would be helpful!

A male reader, anonymous, writes (17 November 2007):

I'm very close to my mother and tell her a lot of stuff, especially about girls. Guys rarely have anyone to talk to about girls - I rarely ask another guys opinion! If my mother told me to back off from a girl I might take her advice - but without knowing the exact circumstances I couldn't really say for certain what I would do. If I was smothering a girl and my mother said to back off I probably would.

Just ask him whats going on and if he still likes you. I wouldn't ask him about his mother or if he has asked for her advice because that would be embarressing to admit to. Just keep it simple, give him some room but let him know you are still interested.
