writes:There's this guy I really like, we are both shy and to start with conversation was really awkward. On Valentine's day i'd sent him an anonymous card, last week he found out it was me who had sent it and since then he's been really chatty.When we talk he looks into my eyes for ages and has been flirting just enough for me to notice but not enough for me to be sure if he likes me or not. But today has really baffled me. I was leaving the building we were both in and another guy said to him that i was pretty, when i came back they were gone and the guy i like told me what had been said about me, I'd said 'ahh shut up', and he responded with, 'do you want me to have a word with him, i could hook you up?' He was laughing when he said it and asked why i didn't like that other guy, i said he wasn't my type and he changed the subject. Now what's confusing me is - did he say that to let me know he's not interested in me, or is he testing the waters to see if i like him? (like i have done to him with other girls)

 If you had said yes, he would have known that you were interested in somebody other than Him, so maybe he WAS on a fishing expedition. If he's really chatty with you now, it's a good sign. If he hadn't liked your Valentine, he'd be avoiding you like the plague. He's probably pleased that other guys think that you are pretty too, and if they were talking about you, that's also a good sign. I'd just hang in there, it sounds like he's getting ready to ask you out, or if you have the nerve, I'd just go up and ask him!
