writes:I am dating my ex-girlfriend's best friend and everyone is mad at me and hates me except for my girlfriend. I love her a lot but my life is starting to be a living hell. Do you think it was a bad choice to go out with her? If no how do i get them to stop hating me?

reader, anonymous, writes (2 January 2011): How would you feel if your best friend started dating your ex? Usually isn't the best idea but what's done is done. If you are happy with her, then enjoy. Eventually your friends will come around and if they don't, then that's just the way it has to be.

Well they probably hate you because maybe they don't want to take it out on your new girlfriend, but they probably hate her too. It's usually not the best idea to go out with your ex's friends--same with your ex's friend going out with you. So you can look at the bright side and they probably hate you both but just take it out on you more. They'll get over it eventually.

 I doubt there's anything you can do now. Breaking up with her will probably only make everyone else still hate you, plus she'll hate you. You made the choice, you may have to just ride it out.

 I think if you an her are happy with eachother great. You can't make everyone happy so start with yourself first. I can see why they may have a problem, but if they are truelly your friends an love you they should notice what makes you happy. Stay strong an hold on to her.

 You cant control that. If you love her then stay with her. You have to know people most likely dislike her for dating you. Stick to your feelings for her. Who cares if people hate you. Do you love those people? Eventually they will get tired of hating you.
