A female United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

Boyfriend is moving 4 hrs away for a new job. He has been unemployed since Oct 08. He would like something closer but it's just not happening. We have been dating for 8 yrs. Relationship has not been perfect at all. Alot of work on my part. But i have always been a supportive girlfriend especially since his unemployment. I have treated him numerous times since for dinners, weekend getaways etc... Cleaned his house top to bottom to get it ready to be put on the market. I don't know if I'm overreacting to his comments. We already discussed me visiting him once a month. I asked him are you going to be coming up to visit me? He responds well I have to see my kids once a month so when i come up here, if your willing and able? He then says he's going to buy a new sports car and get regular massages now since I won't be there to rub his back....? I was pretty annoyed by these statements....!

Thanks in advance

kerrykinsx agony auntHiya

i know its hard when the person you love moves away & your limited to the amount of time you get to see them or spend with them , but id ask if he actually dose want to spend time with you & make this work after all 8 years is a long time. id advise you sit down with him & talk al your opions threw and get his opion on everythin , try & get him to be honest & question what he said about the sports car ect. i think he needs to think about you just as much as hes thinkin about him self. you seem like a good girlfriend not many girls would do that for there man , hope you work things out good luck
