writes:i love my best guy friend. my best guy friend smokes cigaretts and weed.my dad said he would ground me for months, and never let me hang out with that person again, if he found out any of my friends smoked anything.my dad has only ever met my best guy friend and says that just by looking at him, he can tell hes a player.he is deffenetly not a player. he is the nicest guy i have ever met.he would never pressure me into doing anything.he is also responsable when he smokes.he wont smoke anywhere near me so that i dont smell.im so confused!HELP!

 I would somewhat take your dad's advice and not hang out with people who smoke weed. Drugs don't usually lead to good things and weed is a gateway drug that leads to harder stuff, usually starting with Cocaine and possibly leading to other hard drugs.
However, I'd ask your dad for a more fair deal. I personally don't find it fair that you get grounded for the actions of someone else. I insist that you talk to him about the logic behind this.

reader, anonymous, writes (11 October 2010): Then your dad needs to actually meet this guy before you consider being around the guy more.I wouldnt want to be this situation, and eventually i might be.Keep your distance from your friend but have him around your dad and see how things go, your dads bound to ask him questions and that junk, your friend'll answer and you hope for the best.
