I'm in the Nursing field, and I've asked fellow co-workers and students, they all telling me to pop a pill. I refuse to fill my body up with that stuff every night and to deal with the side effects.I know I'm working harder then ever before in my life and I have so many things running in my mind at night. I'm also a BBW, can that be the reason? Its 3:25am eastcoast time, and I have to be up in 3 hours for school. I'm sick of being late, its not only embarassing, but I miss vital information.I've tried everything from reading before bedtime, turning tv off and on, excerise, hot showers and snacking ( not such a good Idea) lol. So, please give me some tips on how to fall asleep. I feel like a Cast memember from " Night of the Living Dead"! lolThank You!NurseBetty85 Reply to this Question Share |

Fairy Lu, that sounds like a great Idea. I have so much on the brain at night, it drives me crazy. I might be able to write a book, lol.
Thanks!

Firstly do not eat after 6pm, do not drink any caffeine after about 12pm, go to bed at a reasonable time but take a warm bath first (not hot) try using lavender or rosemary oil, write everything thatsd on your mind down before you go to sleep and if you wake up in the early hours write what your thinking down and remeber there is nothing that cant wait till the morning.
If none of this help and you really dont want to take any medication maybe try hynotherapy or reflexology, aromatherapy even a massage once a week

Try old black and white movies on the telly with nice volume, they have a relaxing way of making you doze off. Don't put tv on it has ads, just a classic movie should do the trick. Close your eyes and relax.
