Hahaha, people are saying you have an emotional disorder just because you got annoyed with something and a bit misty about a song????

Jesus, if that's the case then I have an emotional disorder every month.

It sounds to me like you have really bad PMT. Unless this has been going on for a few months then you have nothing to worry about.

If it's just come on in the last week then just put on a load of sad songs in your room, have a really good cry, eat some chocolate and then go to the shop and buy some tampons / pads. You will need them in a few days.

Good Luck!! xx

This is a link for a quiz that can help you determine if you are depressed or not.

You could be depressed, usually if symptoms like this don't go away in 2 weeks, then you could be depressed.

The best thing to do is to go and talk to your regular doctor about your symptoms, they will ask you some questions and if they think you are depressed depending on how long it has been going on and how badly you think it is they will put you on antidepressants. Sometimes you have to adjust dosages or try a different brand to get the right one for you, so don't give up on the medication.

You could also just be hormonal, right before your period it is pretty common for women to become teary eyed especially if they are under stress of some kind and school can be stressful.

Some remedies that you can try on your own are first, get some exercise daily and I am talking vigorous exercise as this raises your feel good chemicals in your brain and will help you sleep better at night. Cut out caffeine and sugar in your diet, don't drink Diet Sodas either as they contain chemicals that are hard on your liver, drink water during the day, have a glass of milk before bed to help you sleep or even have some strawberries before bed, they help you sleep. I think one of the biggest problems with students is they don't keep a regular sleep schedule and they don't allow enough time to sleep and they get over tired, that makes anyone cry after awhile, your system is simply saying enough already.

Only you know your own body and your own circumstances so see how you get on with making these changes and if they don't help go see your doctor. There is no reason to live in a dark place or be sad all of the time. But remember, it is better to deal with any feelings you have that are making you sad, antidepressants are not a "happy pill".
