writes: A couple of months ago, I had thrush. I got it treated and since then it's been fine. But I've noticed a few things which have started to happen, that never happened before I got thrush. The first thing I noticed was after my boyfriend and I had sex, it would hurt to pee. I did post a question about it on here and the answer I got back was it could be thrush. But a few days after I had posted that question, everything was fine again and it didn't hurt to pee.The second thing I noticed was becuase of the first thing. I noticed that after I had finished my period, for about a week afterwards, at the beginning of sex it slightly hurt to get it in. I haven't changed partners, I've been with the same guy for 3 years so it's nothing to do with his size. And the final thing I've noticed is after I've finished my period, there's quite a strong smell coming from down there. I keep it clean during my period and afterwards but the smell just kind of appears. Then if I have a shower and clean it up down there, the smell goes away. It's only for a few days after my period has finished but I've never had this problem before.I just want to know if anyone else has had problems like these after having thrush or treatment for thrush and if there's anything I can do to help it. Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

We didn't have sex when I took the medication for the thrush because when I got thrush, I was on my period at the time. I don't have any of the symptoms of thrush anymore though.

Are you taking birth control pills? It could be one reason. I had exactly like that before and when I stopped the pills, the thrush stopped too.
Another thing, while you are on medication, don't sleep with your boyfriend. If you do this, you will only pass your infection to him and then he will pass it back to you. You will not be cured. It's just like you two are passing it on to one another. If possible, have him see a doctor also, maybe he already has this but for guys mostly it doesn't have symptoms.
Be totally cured before you resume your normal sex life. Or else, it might get chronic. It will just keep on bothering you and making you uncomfortable.
