This is kinda of a relationship question. My gf has a great paying job in healthcare. We are far apart and she just failed a drug test there. She had told me a while back that her grown son smokes a lot of pot.Mind you she told me this like in December.

He came to town last week and even though she doesn't condone it,she'd rather have him smoke it there plus she rarely gets to see him,he's 700 miles away.He had friends over smoking pot and my gf was there talking to him.

I don't condone this but it's her house, her rules. This came up before and I told her I didn't like it but it's not a dealbreaker for me.Thing is they were all in the house together while he smoked.Only adults were there.just 2 days later they hit her with a random drug and she failed.I know she doesn't smoke but I still went to many sites that confirmed you can test positive from second hand smoke.I'm sure she's being honest with me and even said if they would believe her and test her urine in 3 days it would be gone.I confirmed that too.Smoking it stays longer.

She's never tested positive before and her son rarely visits.I believe her.Thing I'm wondering is do you think she will be fired for one test? She goes in for other workers, works 12 hours at a time for 4 days and has worked as much as a whole week of 12 hour shifts with no complants.

A lot of her patients even ask for her.I say since this is the only time she failed, she will just get a warning. We are worried because she makes so much and can't make that anywhere else.So I ask,do you do you think she will be fired?

Can't say for sure if she will be fired or not, but it is a great possibility!

I was once on parole from prison and ordered to live with my mother. She lived in an apartment building on the 3rd floor. Every single night, the strong odor of marijuana would penetrate thru the vents from an apartment below hers. I told my parole officer this and her only response was....do not fail ANY drug test! I had to move out without permission risking "EVERYTHING", because I just could not take the chance of getting a false/positive drug test, especially since I'm a non-smoker. My mother finally moved 2 years later and didn't realize until she moved that she was accidently getting high off of this second hand smoke from another apartment. I wish her luck!

chrissy32789 agony auntIt is a good chance that she could get fired for this but it also depends on the rules of a job some places if you fail a drug test then they get fired and some only get warnigs, but if she has gotten a hand book from them then it will say in there about drug test. But if the test came back with it in her system then i am sure they would have told her if they was goin to fire her or not. About her smokin or not i am not sayin that she was or was not but second hand smoke can get you a little high and still be in your system but it all depends on how much she inhaled, So word of advice next time her kid comes up and smokes tell her to tell them to leave the room or get a way from her cause if she is doin so good then she dont need no drug problem kid around her and if she is around it then tell her to drink lots of things to flush her system!

Highly unlikely, she smoked some pot probably just a few puffs and that's what's causing her positive results, she will probably be suspended.
