Periods are messy smelly horrible things.
So for him to have to finger you to turn you on and then get it all over himself... well it's hardly a romantic first time is it?
Just do something for him instead and enjoy the closeness you get by being with him and holding each other.
You should still always make him use a condom, and you two should definitely practice pleasing each other in all the different ways you can before you have sex.
It makes you first time so much better if he knows how to please you and you are more relaxed because you've done other stuff and made him wait.
Good Luck!! xx

This is going to be a little graphic: You could have sex with him, although it could get messy and smelly, I suggest if you are going to have sex while you are "on" do it in the shower and definatly use condoms.
It sounds like you guys aren't very expirienced, it may be worth waiting till after your period so you don't freak him out when he sees blood around his penis!
It's not very pleasent to be fair I think giving him head may be a nicer treat for that time off the month or you could just give him an IOU.
Above all what ever you do make sure he wears a condom!
